Last night we had an incredible combination of a meetup plus a wine tasting at Total Wine in the Perimeter! I had a blast leading our group through the three main types of transitions from a blog into a business and I appreciate immensely the grace under pressure as I realized that I had forgotten to get access to the wifi!
As a result, we went analogue for the night and I swapped up my presentation a bit on the fly to adjust – I still believe we had a great time and some of the comments and reviews seem to be very positive! Love our small group that we’ve created and the opportunity to network and learn from each other!
And, of course, I learned a lot about wine last night as well! I’m totally green when it comes to wine tasting – I didn’t even know about the “4 S’s” of wine tasting!
- Swirl
- Smell
- Sip
- Spit (or Swallow)
Apparently a lot of our group decided to swallow instead of spit!

Thanks everyone for joining me last night!

We’ll do it again! Here are some more sweet pictures of the event via Kevin Campbell:

Thanks Kevin!

This is amazing – what a concept. I can’t imagine two things I love more than blogging & wine! I wish something like this would happen in Chicago.
And doing both of those things at the same time is amazing too.
it was a good time, for sure!
Does the choice to swallow have anything to do with the angle of the last photo?
I love wine tastings. I love wine. Especially a sharp, red wine.
i like white!
I, along with Donald Trump and many others have chosen to abstain from alcohol, but I won’t get preachy here. (we wouldn’t want to run the comments on this post up too high
)
If a person who drinks a great deal of wine is called a winebibber, then is a person who blogs a lot called a blogbibber?
For me, Blogging + Wine = another blog post comment I will regret (I already have a hard enough time controlling myself than to add alcohol into the mix)
According to what I saw in the movie:
Alcohol + Coding = Facebook
And here is one more:
Blogger + Welches = Belcher
(I told you I don’t need alcohol.)
And yes, I like smileys!
Not sure you can use “Preachy” and “Donald Trump” in the same sentence. Some kind of legal ruling on that, I’m pretty sure.
By the way, you’re fired.
Lol
John, I need a job now.
Mr. Coleman fired me, do you have any openings?
At least you will know I won’t come to work drunk.
WINE adds productivity
is that so?
