A clean WordPress Theme for you!
Since we’re right smack dab in the middle of walking through a series that highlights how to best create great blog content I thought it would be time to release the first TentBlogger WordPress Theme!
This one is simple called ‘Content’ because that’s what it’s all about: Showcasing your content prominently with little distraction.
The goal of this WordPress Theme, along with the other two that I hope to release soon, is to help you re-think your content strategy and to help you really focus on developing great content first and then work on the rest later.
In fact, for many of you this might be a great WordPress Theme to use temporarily as you clean up your content, re-focus your efforts, and/or re-launch your blog, especially as you’re working through the series. Install it, use it, and then find a new one after you’re done!
But, you might find it simple enough to keep you focused for much longer than a temporary install – who knows?
For those designers in the house it can surely provide a strong base on which to start.
Features:
One of the neat things that I’ve done is apply a lot of the core principles of good WordPress Theme development (found in Standard Theme) and offer them in a form that is free for those bloggers who are just getting started.
You’ll find quality code, a simple visual structure, and even a few admin options to work with in the back:
Content WordPress Theme Admin Options
As listed above:
- Navigation options for Default or WordPress 3.0 menus
- Location of navigation above or below header
- Image or text header with URL link to logo
- Sidebar left or right
- Google Analytics
Of course, you get the awesomeness of a clean UI and look as well!

Finally, it’s worth noting that this theme is based off a free theme from WordPress.com – the code is refactored, cleaned up, and streamlined with additional admin panel and SEO value! Enjoy!

Hey John –
Where would I put the code to change the favicon? I tried adding it to header.php, but it’s not working: http://3in30.ashleypichea.com {is just showing my host’s default ico}.
you might have to add a favicon.ico file in your wordpress root, wp-content, and theme directory.

Sorry to see you’ve gone the “loss leader” route and release a Clean Home rip-off in order to get people to upgrade to your Standard Theme. Tacky. I’ve been following some of what you’re doing and it’s become very unprofessional and full-of-yourself.
that’s definitely your opinion and i respect it for sure and i mention clean home in my blog post. but you obviously have either taken it at face value and judged too early or you’re ignorant of the work required to add an effective and working admin panel to a theme which provides additional value to the end-user.
regardless i don’t take your comment seriously enough to care because if you’ve been really following some of what i’ve been doing then you’d already realize the amount of free content and goodies i provide here for free that train and educate people to be better and more effective bloggers. i believe in my products and the team that i work with surrounding it.

Thanks for the really nice theme! And if you do make it responsive, Brian is most likely right in suggesting less framework. That way, your sidebar can slide in somewhere. If you did something like 1140px css grid, the sidebar would skip to the bottom, if it’s on the right.
