the-internet

Launching a product online or starting that new venture or even taking the first step on a brand new online project takes guts.

It takes guts because you will instantly be judged by the world who will find every single fault about every single piece of your new business or venture. If it can be seen as “wrong” then someone will not only identify it but publicly slander it as if they’ve been personally wounded.

It takes guts because it requires the stomach to wade through those critiques and still stand after you’ve heard it all. Even if you know, without a shadow of a doubt, that your new project of venture is unique, special, and effective, most of the internet will fail you in that interpretation and lambaste you from head to toe.

It takes guts to not respond in anger or lashout at those naysayers even if you feel righteously justified in your thinking and perspective. Even if you have the raw data to prove them otherwise.

It takes guts to admit the fact that your strategy, method, and execution may have not been perfect. It takes guts to apologize and keep on working hard.

Hey. You. Remember? You decided to launch a product or site or initiative into the absolute bottom-barrel of humanity, the wasteland that is the internet. What were you thinking? Did you really believe that you’d have 100% support? Did you really think that you wouldn’t have critiques or criticism?

Time to grow up because the internet never will.
