Hair: A Lesson on Vision & Patience

July 24, 2010 — 3 Comments

Apparently I now look like an Asian Lego Man with my haircut.

Oh joy.

But the comparison is pretty accurate.

The thing is that I’m attempting to grow out my hair. My stylist tells me that it’ll be about 3 months of growth, at least. I’m already in about a month, but it’s slow going.

It’s an interesting lesson on patience and vision for me. My stylist has cast a vision for what it will look like. I like the vision, so I bought into it and I believe it. Now, I just need to wait – thus the patience aspect.

Too much thought for something so trivial? Perhaps. It’s just interesting how God can teach us really valuable lessons through some of the more banal aspects of our lives. I could apply this one to almost every part of my life.

So, what vision are you waiting for these days…?
