I love testing out new gear...!
I’m at a local Best Buy looking for some lucky left-overs from yesterday’s rush and I thought I’d try blogging on the 11″ Macbook Air that they had on display.
Not bad…! Even though I’ve already sang my love song over the 13″ I could see myself grabbing one of these 11″ for redundancy and a backup device.
The screen resolution and real estate is just fine and the necessary power to run most of my apps appears to be there.
Looks very capable in terms of screen real estate.
I think this holds a lot of promise!
Now, to go get my daughter who’s watching Kung Fu Panda on the 70″ LEDs…
Do you think the 11″ model would be a better option than the 13″?
I have a Mac desktop in my home office, and am debating about which one I want to get for portability’s sake… I like the smaller footprint (the smaller, the better!) but was worried about exactly what you address here: real estate. Then realized that the 11″ Air has more screen real estate than the 13″ Macbook Pro I was considered a couple months ago (before these came out…)

Back to Darius’ question… all I do is blog, Facebook, Twitter, a few google searches, a bit of Amazon shopping, and the very rare spreadsheet…
which would you recommend? 11″ or 13″
A New MacBook Air is the #1 item on my wishlist, but I hadn’t really considered the 11″ before. At this point, I could be easily swayed. But I’m curious about the reasons it would be better.
11″ would probably do……!
… oh yeah.. Add to that list: I keep about a gadzillion photos on my Mac.
oh…. hmm. then you might need the 13″ for a larger hard drive.
I do so much with my MacBook Pro… I can’t imagine justifying a purchase like the Air. My MBP is all the machine I need. I blog on that as well as edit video. I’m buying the iPad 2 this Friday and plan to use that as my “lightweight mobile computer” and leave the blogging and video editing for when I’m at home.
