Let Michael Hyatt Teach You How to Build an Online Platform

Great cover art!

Michael Hyatt is one of those guys who is uniquely positioned to be listened to and taken seriously – it’s not because he’s an older fellow and has years of experience with publishing (analog and digital) but rather because he actually knows what he’s talking about backed by years of personal experience.

So when he asked me to take a look at his new book, Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World, I knew that I had a gem before I even cracked open the pages.

What you’ll find here is pure gold from a guy who’s been there and done that, quite literally, and I am really humbled and honored to have a somewhat unique perspective of watching Michael become a serious player online.

A few years back I worked with Michael to help move his blog from Typepad to WordPress as well as update the look and feel of his digital presence. I had an idea of who he was and what he was up to but he quickly surprised me with his execution and agility.

I’ve told this story a few times to select individuals but I’ve decided to record some of my thoughts from that unique experience:

Pretty slick, right? I mean, Michael Hyatt is a true go-getter and he knows how to build a platform – he’ll provide you the strategy, the points of execution, but he won’t be able to make you sweat – you’ll have to bring the energy and commitment to the book yourself!

Get noticed with Michael Hyatt’s new book Platform from a guy that knows how to get it done.

You can also learn more from his site here! Apparently he’s giving away nearly $400 worth of goodies when you buy it and send him the receipt! Wow! Learn more here!

  1. I love the video John. I knew you were connected with him, but I loved hearing the story behind it. I just bought the book for my Kindle and I’m looking forward to digging in. I’m big fan of his blog, and especially his Personal Life Plan. He’s definitely one worthy of imitation and emulation.

BTW – what prompted you to shoot the video in your car?

  2. Looking forward to the read.

  3. Pretty interesting, thank you for the recommendation.

  4. I’m just trying to decide which version to get

    • Tyler I would just buy the physical book, because Michael will give you whatever version you want for free with the $400 worth of stuff he is giving away.

      • Thanks, I knew that, but I bought the kindle version anyway because it was slightly cheaper and I don’t need physical books taking up space in my home :) Now i’m downloading all that extra content haha!

  5. As one of the people in Michael’s pre-launch team, I have learned so much and benefited thoroughly from both the launch group and the book as a whole.

I’ve already read the book in PDF format, but I’m purchasing my hard copy today. Trust me, it’s not just a bunch of hype. The book is solid.

    Get one.

  6. Ordered my copy yesterday!

  7. Already bought the book and really enjoying the giveaways that he provides when you buy his book. I was looking forward John to hearing your take on this. Thanks for sharing. It’s nice to hear the behind the scenes story of his website.

  8. This was an awesome post and I got so much out of your video John. I was waiting for Michael’s book to come out because I like so many others are building platforms. There are so many moving pieces and small business that tie into what could become a major platform. From your video I see how focused and determined you were to take on the project and for Michael to learn how to transition and get it done. Awesome!

  9. Thanks so much, Michael!

We got the Kindle version in order to get it faster here overseas and I’ve already read it… my first time. Will go through it again jotting down software, URLs and more of the insights. We’ve already gotten MarsEdit… what a lifesaver with the slo-oooow internet we have here!

    Appreciate the free offer package.

  10. Love the post, John. The PREVIOUS show of flashy gratitude was supposed to go on Michael’s blog. Ah… what I get for having multiple browsers open. Aargh.
