Wow.
This is a test of the wickedly-cool 710 pixels wide content area that Human3rror now sports. Oh snap.

VERY NICE
Not just the wide content and video… But that flippin' 5D HD Vid!
that camera is the hotness. i'll never own one tho… sad.
Nor will I at that price.. HOWEVER :: I think this is a sign of things to come with all DSLRs. Look at every point-and-shoot, they all have video. DSLRs don't, YET. They always add the new technology to the high end gear. My prediction is that you'll start to see this new HD video feature on SLRs creep down the model lineup in the coming months and years. It'll be in our price range in no time!
but…. here's the thing (and i know next to NOTHING about cameras)… isn't the sensor or image capture technology "one way"? meaning, a lense good at capturing still is not good for motion picture, etc?
that's what i heard… not sure.
Yea, I'm not 100% sure about all the technology behind it. I do know that this is the first means by which the 'prosumer' can capture AFFORDABLE HD video WITH the aid of interchangeable lenses. And as you can see the results are pretty amazing. Not amazing enough to drop the price of a 5D at the moment but at some point once the tech makes it into the cheaper SLRs it will be nice.
The guy who took this video using the 5D Mark II said on his blog that "This camera will sell for approx. $2,700 – and perform better than many $100K plus video cameras out there"
… snap.
it'll take some time for it all to drop down to a level i can afford… if ever.
