Roenne asked me this today:
Appa… I want to get baptized.
I held her closely as I walked out of the building with a few tears beginning to gather. I told her that we could talk about it some more when we get home and that I’d love to hear her heart about what she knows.
She nodded – and then rested her head on my shoulder as she patted my back. We went to the mall to have some treats at Starbucks. I didn’t want the moment to go – I will cherish it forever.

Wow that is huge!
Glad you got to have that moment with her. She may not recall it but you will forever remember it.
That is awesome!!! There are a lot of mothers who are praying over wayward children who would love to hear those words.
I remember when my girls were small and we were coming back from a mission service we had in a small town in Eastern Europe. I don’t remember all the details, but the girls were in the back of the van and they had M&Ms. We heard inhaling noises(don’t know what they were doing), so I told them not to inhale or they would get choked. My youngest one piped up and said – Don’t want to go there!!! She thought I was talking about Hell.
Ah, the memories. Now she wants a car.
As a brand new father, that is something I want to hear my son say someday!! Rejoice in what God is doing in your family!
Blessing to you and your family! Thank you for sharing this. Tell her she is a part of a big family of God Followers now and He will never leave her or forsake her.
My daughters are both believers as well (8 & 10), but we are still working on the baptism part. Something about the public aspect of it… : )
That’s awesome!
I had the pleasure of baptizing my two oldest daughters. I still have two to go and can’t wait to baptize them.
Congratulations, John!
It’s very special when our kids make such requests. Had the opportunity of baptizing my own daughter and that was a huge experience.
That is huge! Be blessed, amazing to hear!
