sorry phillip. fixed a bug.
Can’t wait to try it out John. Thanks
sure thing david!
Love this, thanks for putting this together. will test it out on some client blogs and see what they think.
“clients”…!
fixed a bug kyle. whoops.
Do you sleep?
Nice job. Using it on my new site that I’m setting up.
yup! i LOVE sleep! more than I do blogging!
fixed a bug travis. sorry.
Installing it now.
sweet!
fixed a bug bro. sorry.
I tried to add it and change a few things around, like seeing what was causing it to mess up, if it was the fb code, or RSS or twitter feed, but it didn’t work. It doesn’t like my theme is the only thing I can think of.
screenshot? what theme?
http://d.pr/C55w The theme is Arras.
i bet it’s competing plugins.
I’ve only got 5 besides this one. I deactivated them and still no luck. You think it’s in the code of the theme?
perhaps. have you attempted to debug it? waht plugins are you using? probably a conflict with scripts.
Screenshot of plugins: http://d.pr/20t9
OK, I changed the directory to tentblogger instead of tentblogger-social-widget. The images are showing up, but they are not the right position. See? http://d.pr/HwZs
I have the same problem…but it could be me…I’m not good at this stuff.
Joey
SORRY! FIXED BUG. redownload.
Brian, check the path and folder name in the plugins folder. It should be ‘tentblogger’, not ‘tentblogger-social-widget.’ Mine was kind of jacked up as well until I noticed that and changed it. John may have mentioned that in the video but I didn’t watch it.
actually, i believe it to be the latter…
send screenshot of that brian.
Screenshot of widget..notice the image is missing too. http://d.pr/kD7z
show me FTP
fixed a bug jay. thanks buddy.
Was just trying to add to my site and had the same problem. Followed Jays instructions and now it works fine! Great job!
SORRY! FIXED BUG!
Dope. I love it. Will be installing this week! You, sir…. Are the man.
thanks daniel! more to come……!
fixed a bug. make sure to re-download.
I redownloaded, but it’s still not working. Couldn’t reply under last message. My FTP looks like this: http://d.pr/GeNx http://d.pr/u7nf
does your php file say 1.1?
Yes, it’s the new version. What else would you recommend? Mind taking a look at my code?
sent an email.

I have the same problem…The change made in the reload helps not having to change the path, but the social site image are out of place. No image for twitter icon. FB and RSS Vertical.
I will check back later…wife needs me.
Joey
have to send me a screenshot.
I have it up on my site now….

Do you still need a prnt scrn?
This is sick!
Woohoo!! Thanks for doing this! Can’t wait to use it.
sweet! enjoy!
Cool beans. Trying it now.
It isn’t displaying properly on my site. Not sure why.
am looking into it. thanks!
Thannks for looking into this and all your work on the plugin. You are amazing!
BTW John, I love this. I didn’t mention that before!
Thanks for the plugin. I love the clean look.
I can’t seem to get it looking right on my site. I’m using Standard Theme, and have disabled all plugins.
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like: http://goo.gl/roKCY
Any ideas?
looking into it!
Hey John, FYI, I’m getting the same results as David. I admire your work and effort. Thanks!
Hey John –
I fixed my issue posted above.
The PHP URL File Access option was disabled for my install. Enabling this resolved the malformed display issue I was having.
Thanks for all you do! Great job with the widget!
Nice plugin John! The essentials.
Great job! Hopefully I’ll have a place to try this out soon
Hey John,
Great plugin! Implementing it on our new site that’s in development now. Have a question for you, what would it take to add a timestamp to twitter and rss posts?
Thanks!
Travis
not too much I suppose. I opted against it because i felt like it didn’t have too much value for people really using twitter… which means the updates are coming in a lot! just get the content and the link!
I think it could be added to the options of the plugin to switch on or off the time stamp!
Looks so cool, can’t wait to try it but after fixing the bug
appreciating your efforts indeed .. keep it up!
Beautiful work, Love it.
Having trouble on a new site, though. Fresh WP3.1 with StandardTheme2.
No other plugins yet activated.
get this error where the twitter feed should be:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/davgul2/prayforindonesia.com/wp-content/plugins/tentblogger-social-widget/tentblogger_social.php on line 124
here’s line’s 123-25:
<ul id="tentblogger_twitter_” class=”tentblogger_twitter”>
<?php foreach($twitter as $tweet):
if($twitter_img && $tweet['image'])$tweet_img = '’;
Any thoughts you have would be appreciated & and thanks for al the work you put into this site.
make that wordpress 3.0 or something…I’m pretty brand new to this.
taking a look. I’ll be releasing some fixes soon.
Did you remove it from the Tentblogger sidebar?
for a moment. i’m refreshing things.
I had problems with my hosting, dreamhost, after I installed this. I talked to them and once I removed the widget everything started working fine again. Why?
not sure. i’m going to take another look and recode it soon.
it works fine but I can make it better.
sounds good!
How about the ability to only load on Posts, and not on front page or any page?
Otherwise, it’s nice so far…
Good job,
ah. that’s a good feature.
John, I’ve download the most recent version linked above and I’m getting an error codes on a Standard Theme install. Lil help?
Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_items() in /nfs/c03/h06/mnt/54582/domains/seasonfive.org/html/wp-content/plugins/tentblogger-social-widget/tentblogger_social.php on line 56
Oddly enough it works on my personal site, but not on the new one I’m currently setting up.
seems to be running fine….. you’ve got two of them going… if twitter is down it might break. i’ll have to check.
Seems it just needed your special look. Magically started working w/ no changes. Guess it could have been Twitter like you mentioned.
Thanks. Great plugin thats lightweight.
Love the concept, but it just doesn’t seem to be working for me on my site. You can check it out at goo.gl/1ZBuh
The tabs don’t switch between twitter and FB
looks like there is some competing CSS. not an issue with the plugin though. you’ll have to add some style!
Cool, I wanted to make something similar to this. I guess I won’t have to now.
A lot people named Kyle are all over this plugin…
huh. popular…? !
Great! the best social widget. A minimalist design that fits in any format
i like keeping it simple.
Great job !
thanks bro!
Cool. Awesome widget !
Just what I need. Thanks
sure thing roseli!
I have a hard time with these sorts of stats on blogs. While I get that they show reputation as a quality blog, it always can come across as bragging to me. It’s a fine line for sure between the two. I just prefer to avoid it for me personally.
and i’m a moron. thought it was a plug in for the subscribers/followers/fans number. that’s what i get for commenting before i watch the video. sorry john.
we’re thinking about releasing it as a standalone though….
Great plugin, just redesigning my site and it’s fitting very nicely:) One request…any chance you could add YouTube channel url as an option?
where would this go specifically?
Looks great and I think it would be great if there was a way add new tabs from the options page..
i will consider it!
Hi John,
Thanks for your great work!
I have a problem since I can not display the widget in tabs as I see in your screenshot.
You could check it in the homepage of my blog: http://ideaspracticasenagronomia.com
This is the screenshot: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3009889/FireShot%20capture.png
Could you help me? Thanks in advance.
Avelino,
there are some issues with your CSS. I’m going to re-write this and make it better. Stay tuned.
This widget looks great, I can’t wait to try it? Is there any way to add a flickr stream to one of the tabs? Thanks!
we could take a look into it…
I was able to do it by using a plugin called flickrRSS. After installing both plugins, I replaced the RSS code and graphics in your plugin with the code specified by the flickrRSS plugin support and it works great! You can see it here: blog.sweetletterpress.com
sweet! that’s awesome!
Great plugin! And I can see some potential for expansion here.
sure can!
been looking for a plugin like this, thanks
sure thing dude!
Hey John!
Love this plugin, however it does not seem to be functioning correctly on my blog.
I use the StandardTheme2, but this is how the plugin behaves: http://bit.ly/hma7j6
Could you help me out?
Thanks, Nate
updating it very soon.
Looks great! Thanks, John
sure thing dave!
Adding it now! It looks very slick!
awesome!
Hey John,
I love the plugin. Super easy to set up, and I like the way it converts the link to “link.”
One thought/desire: Is it possible to make a mentioned @username linkable?
Thanks for your awesome help.
added this as a feature request….!
Just noticed that it hasn’t pulled any or my recent tweets through the plugin. http://www.gbrenna.com ?
I noticed the same thing when I first implemented it, Graham – it refreshed overnight though … not sure if it takes a while to fetch info or something, but it appears so.
This plugin is exceptionally simple, which is exactly what both publishers and readers need in the sidebar … but it doesn’t like my blog
… haha!
By the sound of the comments above, it seems there is competing CSS from my theme that’s crippling the widget … it doesn’t fetch new tweets and balks when attempting to select a new tab (however, when clicking anywhere else a second time the tab loads).
Can anyone help?
did you get teh new one?.
Hi There,
My twitter part of this awesome widget isn’t working and giving me this error.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /nfs/c03/h05/mnt/56001/domains/todesignoffsite.com/html/wp-content/plugins/tentblogger-social-widget/tentblogger_social.php on line 103
Any help? I’m super green and don’t know programming! Here is my site: http://todesignoffsite.com

I’m wondering if you can help me figure out whats going on. I’m not a programmer but I love the plugin!!!
Jer
looks like an issue with twitter. let me know if it corrects itself.
if not, change this on line 103:
It did correct itself! Working perfectly now! Thanks for making such a nicely designed plugin! Minimalist design aesthetic is harder to find than it should be.
sure thing jeremy!

I’m getting an error message in the twitter portfion of the plugin:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_items() in /home/a8063022/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tentblogger-social-widget/tentblogger_social.php on line 63
Any can help? I’m super green and don’t know programming! Here is my site: http://www.rohim.tk

Great plugin. I think it’d be great if you could easily rearrange the tabs. Maybe a future feature?
cool idea!
I would like to do 2 twitter usernames; is this possible with this plugin?
-Thanks.
perhaps on the next release?
It’s Working now…
Thanks for a great plugin…
awesome alzea!
Is there a PHP call for non widgetized sites fro this plugin
not at this time.
Thanks for this one
sure thing dan!
It looks nice, but big problem with Nextgen Gallery plugin.
lightbox effect doesn’t work anymore.
Any solution?
hmm. i’d have to take a look.
Jon,
I love the social plugin and installed it on my new blog (www.somewiseguy.com launching 1/11/11). Trouble is, I can’t seem to get the plugin to display like yours without the Twitter profile name preceding every tweet. I’m using the most current version (1.2).
Thoughts?
Also, I like the social sharing plugin you’ve got floating on the right. Which one is it?
social sharing is built into standard theme. you can not have the avatar show via the plugin.
Any chance you will release your Twitter + Feedburner plugin – widget? Love to be able to get that one.
yes. definitely releasing that one. it’s part of the standardtheme though, so you can get it there.
New blogger enjoying your site. Love the way the social sharing plugin looks. Installed it yesterday but it hasn’t shown any of my tweets today, only the ones from yesterday. Reinstalled but still the same. Ideas?
hmm. how about today?
Today it displayed a tweet from last night, so it does receive them but it takes several hours to post to the plugin after I tweet. this AM I put the plugin from the twitter website on the sidebar also to compare, and am receiving those immediately. Probably something I’m missing. thx.
k. good to know. i’m re-building this plugin from the ground up… so i’ll let you know.
Thanks, I haven’t officially launched the blog yet, probably a couple of weeks. Love your blog. I’m a full time worship pastor and part time local Board of Education member who loves to write. Maybe I should just switch to Standard Theme, but since I’m new at this, I was afraid it was over my head. But on your demo video, it seems fairly simple.
it is! let me know if you need anything!
We love your plugin. Just found out your site. Great stuff.
It is even better because you are a believer. Cheers
thanks mahesh!
Great Plugin! I’ve seen it work on a friends site aaronconrad.com I added the widget, but it doesn’t update the twitter feed. How can I fix this?
it might take a sec. does it now?
it refreshed once. maybe my theme sucks….maybe i need on of yours lol!
doh!
It seems to be catching up now. Again, great plugin!
I got this message but my icons are showing up. What does this mean?
Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_items() in /home/content/75/7586375/html/wp-content/plugins/tentblogger-social-widget/tentblogger-social-widget.php on line 154
that’s an issue with twitter, not the widget unfortunately!
lightweight, it is so good
hey!
firstly thank you for your widget, it rocks!
quick question – by default it shows up with the twitter tab on top, is it possible to make the facebook tab the foremost by default?
also – what is the widget you have on your side bar which has tweet/fb shares/stumble/addthis?
thanks again!!
you can change that in the code if you’d like.
thank you! i’ll hunt around and figure it out…
is there a name for the sidebar widget you have?
not sure what you mean.
sorry hehe – one more – is there a way to remove the white border and change font colours? as i’m using a theme (Motion) which is quite dark adn uses a lot of transparencies
thanks again! really appreaciate your assistance ^__^
again, you’d have to do some CSS.
I have added your widget which looks great, configured, tested with a test tweet and it worked, but today when i started adding some more tweets they aren’t being pulled through. All the settings are the same, is there ever any lag in time? do you have any ideas?
do you have cacheing?
Just to let you know, it looks like this plugin breaks the cufon font replacement on Elegant Themes. I couldn’t figure it out but I traced it down to this one. I’ll post again if I find a fix for it!
Thanks-ds
sure thing dan! appreciate it.
Hi there, I love to get your plug-in installed on my site. Unfortunately I cannot get it to show up in the sidebar. FYI-I am using a custom template. I know the sidebar is widget-ready because I am able to insert other widgets. Is there a specific shortcode I am supposed to use? Here is the code I have:
Let me know. Cheers!
no, no shortcode required… that’s odd that it’s not showing up. do you have caching?
I Will try this plugin for my new blog…..thanks
sure thing bogor!
Im having trouble getting the blog to show the “fan page”
http://www.facebook.com/pages/47st-Photo/#!/pages/47st-Photo/131734491972
Am i doing something wrong? i click the link for pages and the generator won’t generate my code!
also everything below seems to be out of place, is it the way the current CSS was done
I didn’t design the template, they have just asked me to fix/maintain the blog
http://www.47stblog.com/
please help!
would like it to show the like box not just the image
i’d have to update this to show it. will consider it!
the generator would show your page? use this link? http://www.facebook.com/pages/47st-Photo/131734491972
yes i finally got the page to load it was a timing issue on the FB page, thanks!!!!
but the lists/way it looks on twitter etc still looks weird! would you agree?
i know its not centered that’s my CSS issue (still havent found where), they have me fixing everything the original coder did
i can’t help with your original coders work unfortunately. ;(
Quick question for you… is there anyway that I can take this from the side bar and place it on a different part of my site, like in the body or a different section?
hmm. you could extract the code and try that. for sure.
Hi,
right after installing your plugin I receive the following error msg in the WordPress dashboard:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /is/htdocs/…/wp-content/plugins/tentblogger-social-widget/tentblogger-social-widget.php on line 238
Any idea what can cause this? I downloaded the latest version from WordPress.org
Thanks
Axel
do you know if you have any competing plugins?

I don’t know: Advanced Typekit, Contact Form 7, NextGEN Gallery, Online Backup for WordPress, WP-CleanUmlauts2, WP-Piwik, WP Content Slideshow, WPtouch and WP Video Lightbox are installed…
Do you plan a future release with google +1?
It will be great to have facebook / Twitter / Feed RSS and Google+1 in the same plugin
hope you will !
not sure…!
Hi John
Thanks for this job.
This is a great plugin.
I just have a question.
What’s the feedburner username ? I try my email login but this doesn’t work, and I don’t see other username.
Thanks for your help;
PS sorry for my bad english. I’m french.
it should be just the ending of your feedburner address.
Thanks for the reply. I will try this
Hi, I used the plugin but it does not work, error line 160. What should I do?
what is the error?
Print screen : http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/6537/91644474.png
sometimes twitter burps. this might be one. do you have caching?
I’m not so good at this, I guess I do not know.
But the problem is not Twitter, it’s the same for Feed or Facebook like box…..
hmm. i’ll take a look.
So ? What to do?
perhaps it might be a server-level issue.
Thanks for this plugin looking for this from a long tym thanks a lot…!!
This plugin has bugs, like others commenting I also received this message:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/turntabl/public_html/content/wp-content/plugins/tentblogger-social-widget/tentblogger-social-widget.php on line 238.
LINE 237 ‘twitter_username’ => ”,
LINE 238
LINE 239 ‘tweet_count’ => ”,
LINE 240
LINE 241 ‘feedburner_username’ => ”,
This plugin has bugs, like others commenting I also received this message:
To follow up, when I removed the space in the code… it worked ok.
great!
my blog sidebar was waiting for something like this..
Love the plugin. However, on the RSS tab, I think you need to add a “Subscribe to RSS” link at the bottom of the box, similar to what you do with the Twitter tab where you say “Follow Me”.
I don’t see how a user can actually subscribe to my RSS, they only see the links to articles, which are already on the blog.
you could do that in the code…
