I’m so tempted to blast IE6 users in the face for accessing my sites with such a deprecated browser…

If you want, do the following:

  1. Open header.php
  2. Put this code anywhere between the <head> and </head> tags:

    <!–[if lte IE 6]>
    <STYLE>@;/*
    <![endif]–>

  3. Laugh as any IE6 users who try to read your blog will have insta-crash.
  4. Smile.

What are you doing to enhance web browsing standards today?

    Note that I’m using (mobile) Safari right now, but were I reading from my work PC, I’d have to use IE6. You really want to target (& shoot at) my (required) work web browser?
    And yes, I do agree that ie6 sux, but hey, can’t we all just get along?

    I have both IE7 and Firefox on my laptop. Funny thing is, a lot of websites I look at in FF look like crap. Plus, a lot of stuff just doesn't work.

    I'm no M$ apologist (I'm a linux man!) but there's a reason they're #1. Coders need to look at that.

    Dealing with a client that only has IE6 installed on the hundreds of computers in the organization. :(

    Funny that they're pushing the envelope with Sharepoint, but stuck on Stupid IE6

    You would only be punishing you readers not the evil corporations that force them to use IE6.0. If we can't read your blog, they win.

    This comic is a joke. I lived through the original browser wars. I saw it first hand. Here is what the comic should read.

    FF – I can render most CSS correctly!

    Safari – I can render most CSS correctly too!

    IE6 – Not only was I released a full year before FF 1.0 was release, but I could render CSS better than any of my peers and predecessors at the time. Oh, and your welcome that my market penetration and features (along with my cousin IIS) paved the way for AJAX. Which whether you realize it or not, is helping make the Web the rich, responsive, desktop-app-replacing tool it is today you inconsiderate JERKS.

    You should still do what this article suggests though. End users need to be pushed to upgrade. Using IE 6 in 2001 is forgivable. Using it today is not.
