I use this theme on this blog!
Standard Theme, a premium WordPress Theme, has been released!
As some of you may know I am fortunate to be a part of the team that helps develop it, and if you didn’t know (for you new readers here) I use it here on TentBlogger!
There’s really no other WordPress Theme that I would use and here’s why:
- For new bloggers it helps your blog get the best start in terms of SEO and content presentation.
- For experienced bloggers who want to increase their Search Engine Ranking it’s a great place to move!
- It’s a very fast-loading theme (which plays a roll in SEO) and now with 2.5 it’s even faster with improved SEO.
- Localization support for those outside of the US or bloggers in other countries.
- And for those that run multi-author blogs (great for Sponsored Posts and Guest Authors) it has now better multi-author support.
- Lifetime Updates and a fantastic dedicated support team (Support License users only).
And more.
One of my favorite new features? The new and improved Follower Count Widget that will clear your cache and update your count on “Save”:

You're starting to see this feature all over the place now!
You can read the full list of new features in Standard Theme v2.5 right here on the 8BIT blog. For those that have a copy already but do not have the Support License you should seriously consider upgrading!
Lifetime support and upgrades are still available.

Sweet stuff here, even got the company I work for convinced to start a blog, and purchase this awesome premium theme. We’re hoping to launch soon.
That is awesome!! Congrats on being a tentblogger champion!
and thank you sir!
great!
I use this for my blog & love it. Just upgraded to 2.5 & still getting everything back to normal.
Question: Where do I locate the Evernote Clip feature – didn’t see it in the Standard Theme admin panel. Maybe this is better asked in the forums. Sorry if this is not the right place.
dave,
you can ask in the forums, but the short answer is that i custom added that.
get the code here:

I cannot find where I can download new Standard Theme 2.5. I have purchased full license.
you can goto the forums to get an updated copy!
Congrats on the newest release John!
Am excited to implement on my blog in February.
thanks dudE!!!
John,
Sweet theme bro…I’m so tempted to switch
can you do small excerpts with this theme? In rows of 2?
not sure what you mean?
small excerpts meaning the posts under the “featured” post are broken into 2 smaller posts..sort of like this
http://demo.woothemes.com/?name=busy-bee
So perhaps it would be something you have tucked in the page layout options?
we don’t have those page options. you could definitely customize it that way. but, if you wanted something just like that then perhaps you sould get that wootheme!
Okay no worries. I would rather use Standard but maybe that’s something on the next update:)
? I noticed that in the posts that I have photos galleries that I can’t “click next” to see the next image. and the same with “next post”. Do I have to download a plugin for standard theme in order to click next and click next thumbnail in a gallery?
these are just using native gallery features in wordpress. you’d have to get a plugin to get more advanced gallery features.
Thanks.
Awesome John! Is the sharing toolbar you use here available for download? If so, where? The current one I have still uses Tweetmeme. Also, I would like to add the Stumble Upon feature.
Not sure if I missed this in a post somewhere.
Thanks!
the newest version has twitter builtin. i’ve added SU myself.
I see. Thanks!
Can’t wait to download and install it!
word!
I have been trying to avoid buying a theme, due to finances! However, I am smitten by Standard Theme and sorely tempted, but I’ll need to have the full version as I’m sure to require the forum.
First question, you mentioned in another post about the possibility of a sale/discount in February, is this looking likely?
I’ve been trying to find a theme that will be easy to use and configure, which it looks as if this is. I am going to be using it more as a conventional website than a blog. I need to be able to easily have an Aweber opt-in box at one side, I see you use Feedburner, will this be straightforward for me to do? I’ll need several full width pages, for use as sales pages using e-junkie, this looks like I can do it easily?
I like the clean look of your theme, difficult to find one that is genunely so, without having to know how to alter php and such like, which is way beyond me at the moment
Thanks for any advice.
yes… shhhhhh. it’s coming……
you can definitely use aweber and just throw in their widget on the side…… and feedburner is built-in…
I’m geeked!
geeked is good.
John, I have made the switch! Thanks for your work. I am liking standard theme.
CONGRATS! look forward to seeing your success with it!
I’m ready to upgrade, but need to study soem things out before I do so, like how to migrate all my settings without losing them…
shouldn’t be a problem upgrading.
I finally had the funds to buy a Support Licence of Standard theme yesterday. Just wondering about logging into the support forums and so on. I know it said twenty-four hours to receive your information, and it’s been just about that now. Is that normal?
hm. you should have gotten it…..
Never mind. I received it! Thanks.
Is Standard Theme better than Genesis Framework and Thesis? Does Standard Theme reduces the need for number of plugins on the blog?
yes. and the newest version, v3, coming out soon, is incredibly responsive, fast, and even more powerful.
Thanks John, I was in a bit of confusion b/w Standard, thesis and genesis. Now I will go with Standard theme.
awesome! thank so much for your support!
HI John, Sorry to trouble you again. I am having problems in check out while buying standard licence for standard theme. Is paypal the only way to checkout? When I click on continue shopping button, the shopping window gets closed..
email sales@8bit.io if you have issues!
I’ve seen 4 other websites that you showcased on the standard theme site. Do you have any others to showcase?
