My wife and I @ Hilton Head
I’ve been a bit scarce around these parts this past week as I’ve spent the week investing in some of the relationships that really matter to me, especially with my wife who celebrated six courageous years with me!
It’s amazing to me that it’s been that long – in some respects it feels short and in others it seems like it should be a lot longer. Regardless, the timing is perfect.
My wife has been a constant source of strength and inspiration for me. In fact, she’s one of the reasons that I have continued to write for as long as I have – when I first started blogging I spent a lot of time writing about my relationships and how they were working (or not) and she was the subject of many of those posts.
As we continued to strengthen our relationship she gave me cause to continue to write and to continue expressing my thoughts in written words. She gave me amazing stories to process through writing and two amazing children to provide consistently-cute pictures on various different outlets.
She’s one of the reasons that I still blog and that I still love what I do.
Of course, she’s much more important to me than just content for a digital journal – she keeps my heart and head level and at ease and is my best friend in the world. I couldn’t do most of what I do today without her input and perspective.
In fact, many of the critical business decisions that were made historically had her fingerprints all over them – and she’ll never be credited publicly or thanked but she and I know where the credit is truly due.
She has never quit on me even though she has had a million-and-one reasons and I love her so much!
If you’ve been impacted by my work and my blog posts then the next time you see my wife you should thank her big time! She powers every single one of them.

Amen to this! Love the roles our wives play in inspiring and encouraging us to do what we were made for.
behind every successful blogger is…
Behind every great man is a fabulous woman.
Congrats to you and your wife on 6 years. I’m so happy to hear that she is supportive of your endeavors and in the trenches with you.

Amen! Wouldn’t be who I am without my wife. Good on you for recognizing her here.
she doesn’t get enough credit.
Such a wonderful post on your part! Love the photo of you two together. I am single at the moment but posts like this inspire me when I finally meet that special someone.

one day… one day.
have you tried online dating? not sure if you’re into that, but i know a lot of success stories… even my brother!
John, this is pretty much the post I’ve been thinking about writing the past week or so. Part of me just wants to cut-and-paste it (changing the names, of course).
I’ve been reminded these past few weeks about what truly matters in life, business, and ministry. Thanks for sharing your heart, brother.
Charles
sure thing charles… keep pressing on!

Loved it.
Easy to understand.
ah, i enjoyed that one!
John’s personal life success = Tentblogger success.
Tentblogger success ≠ John’s personal life success.
Nice to know you have your priorities right and that you share with with us.
Congrats on the first 6 years John!
grammer fail
spell fail…? “grammar”
Wish I could say I did that on purpose
haha!
I totally envy you John. Your wife is very supportive of what you do. Mine? The opposite! I do not get any support at all from my wife. We even have yelling matches because I spend too much time with my blog. She doesn’t understand that my blogging is one of my pastime and relaxation from work.
ah. that’s really tough! is her biggest complaint your blog or your time with the blog?
