Villainy (Part 1) – Better Villians?

August 25, 2008 — 1 Comment

We need good villains for the health of our society.

Really?  Perhaps not for the health of our society… but one things for sure: “Good villains make great stories.”

My 2 cents after the break.

Every once in a while io9.com has some very engaging and lengthy material.  This particular article suggested that we are beleaguered and beset by average villainy.

I would probably agree.

When was the last time that I saw, on the silver screen, a evil-doer that made wet myself?  When was the last time that I cringed when I saw a dastardly man perform a even-more dastardly deed?  Oh, how I pine for the much-needed depravity!

But really.  Seriously.  The best way to create a better villain is to simply look at the crown prince of them all: Lucifer.  Satan.  The Deceiver extraordinaire.

If you want a wickedly awesome baddy… read the Word of God.  Then peer into that soul of yours and introspect about how depraved you really were before the Son of God brought salvation…  Villainy?  HAH!  It’s already here.

Anyways, an entertaining read.

To top it off, a sliding picture-scale of good and evil…  which ends on the man that gave me hope in villainy on the big-screen again!
