I often wonder how many people know about one of my true passions in life: Christian Education.
I suppose it’s a well kept secret… but not really. I don’t purposefully hide this fact but neither do I advertise it much.
Did you know that I’m in my 5th year of Seminary? I haven’t had a semester off since I started. Ever. Incredible. One day I shall experience a “semester off”…
What’s one of your well kept secrets? Share in the comments or blog about it…!

7 yrs of seminary. part time. 1 degree BTH. 1 wife
3 kids. 3 houses. 1 rockin job.
part time FTW!
I’m impressed, as my undergraduate degree is in Christian Education/Bible and Church Music. I suppose anything I would write would be a well-kept secret to you (since you don’t know me…lol). However, I suppose my desire to take a year off and travel the world is not widely known. It’s also not very likely since I don’t have means to do so.
Oh well…one can dream!
that would be fun…… can you imagine what might change in that one year though.? wow.
Yes…it would be an adventure and an experience that would change me tremendously, I’m sure. BTW…stay the course on your MDiv. It took me six years to complete my MEd. You will make it.
Just realized you didn’t mention an MDiv. Guess I just imagined that. :-
masters of CE and masters of Biblical Studies.
Had no idea! There are so many layers to John Saddington. Quite an onion, you are!
you smell like one, too.
thanks.
=P
Do I hear a new ministry opportunity: online Christian school (K-12), with Headmaster/Tech Boss John Saddington?
wouldn’t that be interesting…
All the students would be taught by robot instead of teachers
whack!
BTW I am 3 1/2 years into my MDiv, with *hopefully* only 1 or 2 more years to go.
i think i’ve got 2 years to go.
I’m about to finish my first semester of seminary and I’m switchin from Masters of Music to MDIv in International Church Planting. (going to be a missionary!!!) where are you taking your degree John? I’m at Southwestern Seminary. (on campus) and they have a MACE as well.
I just started my masters degree in counseling
i dind’t know that……..!
wait, what? ..how did we not know?
because I just just started last week…signed up and am working on my reading list now for summer classes
i’m really quite shy, my classic ENFJ personality type comes out here on the internet where it’s easy to be bold and brave (SSssshhh, pleez don’t tell anyone!!!) heeheehee
Thank you John for sharing your Seminary Secret – I did not know that – very cool !!
sure thing!
Wow John that rocks. Where are you taking your courses? It is funny you should have this post on the same week I have talked about taking some classes with my Pastor and bible study leader. My bible study leader is a man who as an older adult went to Seminary just to learn. That is my desire. I have found some courses to take (right now a NT background course). Congrats.
This is something I want to do also in the future after my kids are much older and we are not in the throws of going to basketball games almost every night. =)
sweet!
I was a Captain in the Infantry, 3 years of the 4 years I studied at the South African Military Academy. Majored in Maths and Computers; did my Honors in Computer Information Systems/Computer Science.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a Fighter Pilot – I still want to; maybe I am still a kid, yip – that’s it.
whoa! i didn’t know that……!
aye,aye, Skipper!
got a drama scholarship out of high school, competed in Cross-Country in junior-college, and prior to one year ago in January i knew little about social media mumbo-jumbo…
Hey, was just wondering… what school do you take courses with?
Dallas Seminary! http://dts.edu
