WordPress Plugin: Featured Post in RSS Feed!

July 30, 2009 — 7 Comments

screenshot1Today I’m releasing a very simple WordPress Plugin that’ll allow you to add a symbol and/or text to “call out” a particular set of posts in your reader’s RSS Feeds.

I built this because a good friend, Michael Hyatt, needed something to call out his “Sponsored” posts in RSS Feeds.

So, you could use this for “Featured” posts, “Sponsored” posts, or anything else you’d like to make sure you’re reader’s don’t miss.

screenshot2This is especially important in today’s RSS-reading economy where people scan their feed readers; you’re going to want to make sure they don’t miss your stuff!

A few screenshots of what it might look like with default settings. It’s super easy to use!

Let me know if you have any thoughts and if you use it!

Enjoy!

  1. I see the star next to some CCrunch posts in GReader, definitely draws attention there.

  2. Interesting plugin, but I have a question. After I installed it, my blog went nuts. And I've got a whole bunch of error code I don't understand. I had to delete the plugin, but I'm still getting include_once and session_start errors. I'm going to see what I can do to fix it, but I'm a newbie. My blog is http://www.realmendriveminivans.com if you wouldn't mind taking a look. Thx

  3. Just saw Chris Brogan tweet this, you're a rock star John.
