We’ve all heard this said or experienced it directly ourselves – something to the affect of someone else’s dad being more cool than your own dad.
But I’m really grateful: I’ve had the very pleasurable experience of hearing it from my friends about my dad:
Man……….! I wish my dad was as cool as your dad…!
Booya.
My father was an amazing conversationalist, an impeccable host, and exceptionally adept at making anyone (and I mean anyone) feel comfortable having a conversation with him. He is naturally pastoral and he makes people feel special and valued.
He was, without question, a remarkable example, and I want to be that type of father for my daughter.
And although I am very different than my dad I hope that my children grow up knowing and believing that they have an imperfect father who loves them imperfectly but who doesn’t require them to be perfect to receive that love!
This is Father’s Day and I love my father… and I love being one too. I never wanted anyone else and I hope my kids feel the same way!
Happy Father’s Day everyone!

Wow! Well said, John. Although imperfect, my Dad instilled some very important values in me. I hope I have been able to live out most of those in ways that have made an impact on my daughter and others around me. I am blessed to have a loving Dad and to be one.
seriously!
Happy Father’s Day to you John and to your Father as well! God Bless!
thanks mikes!
Happy Father’s Day John… it’s a wonderful blessing. Hopefully someone will say that to one of my sons one day, but at least I can honestly say “Luke, I am your Father”
HAHA! thanks allan!
